April 17, 1774: Václav Jan Krtitel Tomásek is born in Skutec (now at Tomáskova 508), Kingdom of Bohemia, 113 km east of Prague, the youngest of 13 children born to Jakub Tomásek, a linen merchant, and Katrina Habalová, daughter of weavers.

December 15, 1811: Seraphine, an opera by Jan Václav Tomásek (37) to words of Dambek, is performed for the first time, in the Prague Estates Theatre. It is well received.
