April 25, 1690: Gottlieb Muffat is baptized in Passau, in the Prince-Bishopric of Passau in the Holy Roman Empire, the son of Georg Muffat, organist and composer.

December 1, 1764: Gottlieb Muffat (74) retires from his position as Imperial Court Organist in Vienna. Due to his many years of service, Muffat will receive a full pension until his death.

December 9, 1770: Gottlieb Muffat dies from “gangrene of the lungs” at his home at Weihburggasse 2 (Kärntnerstraße 11) in Vienna, Archduchy of Austria, 80 years, seven months, and 14 days after his baptism. His remains will be laid to rest in St. Stephen’s Cathedral.
